Daventry District Council and Threshold Studios contracted Hedz to engage their local community in a bespoke artistic renovation. Young people from the surrounding estates were given a unique opportunity to work alongside Hedz professional artists to create over 200ft of inspirational artwork.
The participants, and several local community spokespersons were encouraged to express how they felt Daventry could be best represented in creative imagery. The results of this consultation process were utilised in the creation of the large scale murals that now brighten the previously unsightly concrete structures. Local residents have commented that the subway is now not only a nicer environment to travel through, but also displays the true creative talent of the areas young people. This artistic renovation engaged over 40 young people and was designed, managed, and facilitated by Hedz in partnership with Threshold Studios.
