Virgin Trains currently manage a large number of First Class departure lounges across the United Kingdom. Hedz were contracted to create bespoke canvas artwork for London Euston and Birmingham departure lounges. Our art director facilitated an extensive consultation with Virgin Trains directors, the results of which formed our inspiration for the creation of 12 'one-off' pieces of art.
All finished artwork is intended to improve the departure lounges decorative identity. Our artists created the artwork in aerosols, with the subject matter depicting subtle travel based imagery.
The finished artworks are now displaid for public viewing.
Upon the completion of the first stage of this contract, Hedz were given the responsibility of facilitating a press launch event at London Euston station. This event was attended by both national press and Virgin Trains directors, who viewed the unvailing of the collection.
Virgin Trains were so pleased with the outcome of this project that Hedz art director Stuart Styles is now employed as a reguler columnist for Hotline magazine. Hotline is a free on-board publication that is found within all vehicles that are used on the Virgin Trains Network. Stuart contributes art based editorial to further inspire Virgin Trains customers with the world of creative media.
