Hedz was conceived in 2001. It was originally launched as an event promotion and management organisation in Birmingham, UK. The events were run under the 'Heducation' banner, and the event promotion was branded 'Superfly'.
In 2003, Hedz joined forces with Stuart Styles, the founder of 'Graph Supplies' - Birmingham's most successful aerosol art retail store. Together they launched the UK’s first dedicated urban art gallery, 'Vibrant Fibre'. This incorporated an exhibition/gallery space for artwork, with an on-site clothing customisation service, and a unique canvas commission service.
By 2005, the other main service, youth engagement workshops, (in urban arts and design), had received such commendation and demand, that the centre of activity was moved away from a street-level retail space, to a studio office, to allow attention to be further focused on these workshops.
Since then, Hedz has risen to be the region’s leading service provider of Youth Engagement Workshops in creative arts, and developed a unique and revered delivery technique. We work contractually with a diverse range of community-based groups such as, West Midlands Police Force, Birmingham City Council, and National Youth Services.
We now use all of the experience that we have gained along the way, to produce original designs and concepts, to compliment and enhance your organisation, and inspire your colleagues and team.
